Thanksgiving Sweet Potato Casserole

If you are a new homeowner then you are probably excited about throwing your first Thanksgiving holiday party! There is so much to do decorate the house, get a nice festive centerpiece and of course prepare a delicious meal for your guests.

You want your first Thanksgiving in your new home to be a memorable and festive one. You have your turkey, all the ingredients for the dressing, potatoes, vegetables, buns, and pies but something is missing. How about a sweet potato casserole it is easy to make and will make a wonderful addition to the dinner table. One your guests will be talking about for years to come.

Sweet Potato Casserole

  • Four sweet potatoes (peeled and sliced)
  • Half a cup of light brown sugar
  • Half a cup of margarine or butter
  • One (10-ounce) bag of white mini marshmallows
  • One tablespoon of orange juice
  • One tablespoon of Cinnamon
  • One tablespoon of nutmeg
  • Half a tablespoon of allspice

Directions – Preheat the oven to 350 degrees; boil the sliced sweet potatoes until they are tender, put the cooked sweet potatoes back in the pan beat with a mixer until smooth. Add in the margarine or butter, orange juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice mix well. Place the sweet potatoes in a 9 X 13 baking dish, sprinkle the mini marshmallows on top and bake for about 7 minutes (until the marshmallows are a nice golden brown.
